Would you like some painkillers with that?

Ok, so as most of you already know, I avoid dairy like the plague.  For one, after much research, I have learned how horribly the cows are treated and the pain they endure just so that we can get a cold glass of milk.  Reason #2 – dairy caused a lot of health issues for me, such as migraines, upset stomach, sinus problems, and much more.  I just read an article that allows me to safely say that I will never go back to dairy.  A team of researchers analyzed some samples of milk (cow, goat, and breast milk) and found up to 20 different chemicals in just ONE glass of milk!  While the actual dose of chemicals were minimal and they couldn’t have an effect on the person drinking them, it’s still crazy to think they’re even there in the first place.  Here’s the list of chemicals they found (painkillers, antibiotics, and growth hormones):



Ahhh, the famous question, “What do you drink if you don’t drink milk?”  There are SO many dairy alternatives:

  • Rice
  • Oat
  • Almond
  • Hemp
  • Hazelnut
  • Brazil nut
  • Coconut
  • Walnut
  • Soy (but this is one I also avoid)
